My Barbie Dreamhouse ©Mattel

My project this week is to pick colors for the exterior of our little castle.
My friend Kristina once pointed out to me, that I have a very distinct color palette.
I can't help but gravitate naturally to poppy colors right out of the tube.
In my barbie dream world, this is what my house looks like.
I'm sure the neighbors would love it!

Rubble Rubble

Crock Pot Romance

I don't know what it is, but I think I prefer cooking outside to cooking in a kitchen. I feel like i'm camping, but I have the luxury of a refrigerator and electricity. I never thought it possible to fall in love with a crock pot, but my heart goes a flutter when I think about all the yummy dinner recipes I can make for the family in our outdoor kitchen with my one stop plug in oven. We've talked about keeping the outdoor lounge area even when we're not living among the rubble.

Giving up the ghost

It's hard to be in a home that has stood for 70 years and not feel the presence of the lives that were lived there. I find magical moments in some of the small details in doors, floors, vents. The sound that the glass panels on the garage door make when it is closed.

Dining Al Fresco

Since we will be out a kitchen for the next 4 plus months, we are turning the covered area next to our garage into our temporary kitchen. I had a couple gallons of colorful paints at my studio that we used to cover the drab walls and floor.

See Through

Turning 4 rooms into one.
